Auctioneers Note: This sale is a massive treasure trove of more than four generations of local Salisbury and surrounding area history. The late Robert Ennalls Powell Cannon was a 1939 graduate of the University of Maryland and went on to graduate from the University of Maryland Law School where he received his law degree in 1947 and served as president of his legal fraternity. During World War II, he served in the U.S. Army in Europe from 1941 – 1946. He trained with “The Fighting 29th” Infantry Division, before being transferred to the Department of Defense’s Stars and Stripes daily newspaper and Yankee Magazine, published for the American troops stationed abroad. He was an elected Delegate to the Maryland House of Delegates for 12 years, from 1951 – 1962, where he proudly supported teachers’ issues and civil rights laws. He was an attorney and landlord for most of his life, a staunch supporter of the Salisbury Volunteer Fire Department and was proud to be selected as Honorary Fire Commissioner for the Salisbury Fire Dept. He has been a member of the VFW, the American Legion, and the Wicomico Presbyterian Church and the Elks Club. Allen & Marshall Auctioneers is proud to offer the estate of this well-known local icon. Online Bidding: This is an Online Only Auction held on the Allen & Marshall website. Early Pre-Bidding will open on 14th of March 2017. You will be able to bid at any time up until the closing time for each individual items which will start at 5 PM on Wednesday 26th, 2017. 1 lot will end Approx. every 30 seconds. This Auction will feature a soft closing. If someone bids in the last minute before an item closes the bidding on that item only will be extended for 1 minute. This will give you a chance to bid again. This process will continue until one person stops bidding or doesn’t bid before the time runs out.

Allen & Marshall Auctioneers and Appraiser’s does not ship items, however shipping is available through the UPS Pack and Ship Store of Salisbury, MD or a shipper of buyer’s choice. Buyer is responsible for bringing any required manpower, tools, boxes, wrapping paper, blankets, wheel cart or dollies needed to remove your items from the property. The owners are settling on this house the following day.  Items not picked up by 12 noon on Saturday April 29th, 2017 will be considered abandoned and will be disposed of at the discretion of the Auction Company.
